The review request email prompt
Write a plain-text review request from [SENDER] at [BUSINESS] to a customer whose [THE JOB] is finished. Words only — no HTML, no layout notes. Rules: - 70 to 110 words. Plain language, as if spoken. - Reference the actual job in the first line so it is clearly about them. - Ask for a review on [WHERE TO REVIEW] and name it. One platform. Offering a choice of three halves the completion rate, because choosing is work. - Say roughly how long it takes. "Two minutes" removes the main objection, and it should be true. - Do not say you would appreciate a five-star review, do not say reviews help small businesses like ours, and do not attach a prize draw. All three read as pressure and the third breaks most platforms' rules. - Offer a direct reply if anything was not right, in one line, before the review link. A customer with a complaint should find that route first. - One ask, written as an ordinary sentence with the link inside it. - Never invent a number, statistic, rating or review count. Where a figure belongs and I have not supplied it, leave a bracketed placeholder. - No exclamation marks. No emoji. Sentence case. Write a subject line under 40 characters referencing the job. Return subject, preheader, body, sign-off.
What to fill in first
[BUSINESS]- Your business name as customers say it.
[THE JOB]- What you actually did, in their words. "The bathroom" not "the works order".
[WHERE TO REVIEW]- One platform. Google, Checkatrade, wherever your customers actually look. Pick one.
[SENDER]- The person who did the work, if possible. A review request from the person on site converts better than one from the business.
When to send it
Within a day or two of finishing, while the work is still visible and the relief is fresh. A week later the job has become normal and the impulse is gone; the same email at three days converts far better than at ten.
What to change first
[WHERE TO REVIEW]. One platform, chosen because your customers look there, not because you have an
account. A row of buttons for Google, Facebook and Trustpilot reads as thorough and performs worse
than any one of them alone, because the reader has to make a decision before they can help you.
What good output looks like
Subject: The bathroom
Preheader: Two minutes, if you have them.
Hope the bathroom is settling in. The silicone will be fully cured by now, so you can use the shower properly.
If anything is not right, reply to this and I will come back and sort it. That is easier for both of us than it sitting there annoying you.
If it went well, a couple of lines on Google helps more than you would think. Takes about two minutes.

The prompt writes the words. Bring them here and the studio builds the campaign — branded, dark-mode safe, and ready to import.

A model writes copy. It does not write email.
Production HTML that survives Outlook, dark mode and a Gmail clip is a different job from writing the words. Describe the send once and export it to Mailchimp, Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign or MailerLite.
