Import

How to import this template into MailerLite, step by step.

The download is a single HTML file. Here is where it goes in MailerLite, what the platform expects, and which tags are already wired up.

  1. Create a campaign and choose the Custom HTML editor.
  2. Paste the downloaded HTML.
  3. Replace every placeholder before you send — image sources, link targets, body copy, the sender name and the footer address. There are no editable-region markers in MailerLite, so these edits happen in the code.
  4. Save, then send or schedule the campaign.

Plan The Custom HTML editor is an Advanced-plan feature. Lower MailerLite tiers do not expose it.

Editing MailerLite’s Custom HTML editor treats the whole document as raw HTML — there are no editable-region or repeatable-block markers, so edits happen in the code. Merge tags are the only dynamic substitution.

Watch for MailerLite requires a visible unsubscribe link and a physical mailing address in the footer. The template ships with {$unsubscribe} in place — swap the placeholder address for yours before the first send.

Swapping the placeholder images

Two routes. In the campaign editor you can usually click an image and swap it straight from the file manager, no code involved. If that option is not offered, open the code editor — clicking an image selects its block, and you replace the src with a URL from your MailerLite file manager, which start with storage.mlcdn.com.

The MailerLite tags this template already uses

Tag What MailerLite replaces it with
{$unsubscribe} The unsubscribe link. Required, and must stay visible in the footer.
{$url} The view-in-browser link.

How to use it

When to send this transactional email, and what to change first.

When to send it

This one fires on dispatch rather than on the purchase, and should go out the moment the carrier has the parcel. Readers open it to answer one question: where is my order. Answer it and stop, with no cross-sell and no review request, and set the trigger in your MailerLite automation, because the template does not decide when it sends.

What to change first

Start with the button. “Track your shipment” is wired to href=”#”, so it goes nowhere until you drop in your carrier’s tracking URL, and the three social links in the footer carry the same dead anchor. Then the detail card: the carrier reads “Standard Shipping” and the tracking number is the dummy string 1Z9999999999999999, both of which belong in merge fields from your store rather than typed text. “Shipping to” falls back to “Address on file” — swap that for the real address if you pass one. The masthead logo is the only image, and it still loads from a third-party blob host.

The craft

What makes a transactional email worth sending.

Trust over marketing

Zero cross-sells, no promotional arrow-links, no discount strip. Visual restraint is what signals trustworthiness — the moment a receipt starts selling, it stops reading as a receipt.

The detail block is the email

One order summary, receipt or confirmation card with clearly labelled rows carries the whole message. One or two modules is the whole archetype.

A utility CTA, not a conversion lever

"View order" or "Track shipment" — the button exists so the reader can finish the thing they started, and it does not compete with anything.

Questions

MailerLite template questions, answered.

Which MailerLite plan do I need for a custom HTML template?

Advanced. The Custom HTML editor is not exposed on MailerLite’s free or Growing Business tiers, so the paste-in path is only available once you are on Advanced.

Do I need MailerLite’s automatic CSS inlining turned on?

No. This template ships with its CSS already inlined, which is what Gmail’s webmail client needs anyway — it strips style blocks in several contexts, so inline styles are the only reliable carrier.

Can a transactional email include a promotion?

The archetype says no. Cross-sells and discount strips undercut the trust signal that makes a confirmation read as a confirmation, and in many jurisdictions adding promotional content changes the email’s legal classification.

Does Shipping notification — MailerLite hold up in dark mode and Outlook?

Every zone sets its background twice — once as a bgcolor attribute and once as an inline background-color — which is the pattern that survives dark-mode inversion in clients that repaint backgrounds.

There is no VML fallback on the buttons, so Outlook on Windows will render them as styled text rather than a filled shape.

The layout is a 600px table backbone with a mobile breakpoint, and the CSS is already inlined for the clients that strip style blocks.
