Import

How to import this template into Klaviyo, step by step.

The download is a single HTML file. Here is where it goes in Klaviyo, what the platform expects, and which tags are already wired up.

  1. Open Content, then Templates, in the Klaviyo sidebar.
  2. Choose Import and upload the downloaded HTML file.
  3. Name the template and save it.
  4. Replace every placeholder before you send — image sources, link targets, product and price copy, the sender name and the footer address. Klaviyo’s editor handles copy and images inline, or edit the HTML directly and re-import.
  5. Attach it to a campaign, or to a flow email, when you build the send.

Editing Klaviyo opens an imported HTML template in its own editor. Copy and images are editable there, and the underlying structure stays as generated, so the layout does not drift between sends.

Watch for Klaviyo rejects an import that carries no unsubscribe tag. This template already wraps {% unsubscribe_link %} in its footer link, so it imports as-is — if you rebuild the footer, keep that tag.

Swapping the placeholder images

Klaviyo opens an imported template in its own editor, so the images can be swapped there without touching the HTML. Upload yours to Klaviyo first, then point each image block at it. Editing the file before you import works too — Klaviyo keeps whatever src it is given.

The Klaviyo tags this template already uses

Tag What Klaviyo replaces it with
{% manage_preferences_link %} The preference-centre URL, so readers can change cadence instead of leaving.
{% unsubscribe_link %} The unsubscribe URL. Required by Klaviyo at import.
{% web_view_link %} The view-in-browser URL, for clients that mangle the render.
{{ first_name|default:'there' }} The subscriber’s first name, with a fallback word when the field is empty.

How to use it

When to send this product-launch email, and what to change first.

When to send it

Send it as a campaign on the day the serum can be bought, with the product page and the ingredients page both live. A launch is the biggest open a new product will ever get and there is no second one, so nothing in the email should point at a page that does not exist yet. The full engaged list is the usual audience. A skincare list rarely needs slicing for a hero launch.

What to change first

Fix the stat bar first. It ships blank — [XX]% reported [first result], [XX]% reported [second result], [XX]h measured [third result]. Every figure needs your own trial data or the row comes out. The quote block is bracketed the same way, down to [Customer name], [location] — use a real review or hide it. Then swap Lumen Skin in the header and copyright, rewrite the hero “Meet your morning glow.” for your product, and repoint both “Shop the serum” buttons and the “See the ingredients →” link away from example.com/serum. The benefit icons are still placeholders.

The craft

What makes a product launch email worth sending.

The hero image is the star

Real product photography, a rendered mockup or a composed collage. Stock photos of people using laptops are the named anti-pattern — they say nothing the headline did not.

One CTA, placed twice

A single dominant action in the hero, repeated once mid-email. Three to five modules across three or four zones is the whole shape.

Celebrate the product, not the buyer

Specs in a stat bar, the "what it is" story in a full-width feature block, external validation in a press or logo bar if you have it. Copy stays on the thing you built.

Or refine this

Make this email template yours.

Generate your own with this template as a starting point. Change the colors, the voice, the offer — describe what you want different and the studio recomposes it. Apply your brand kit and ship in your tone, not the template's.

The download is yours either way.

Questions

Klaviyo template questions, answered.

Can I use this template in a Klaviyo flow, or only a campaign?

Both. An imported template is available to any campaign or flow email you build afterwards. The trigger and the timing are configured on the flow itself, not in the template.

Do I need a paid Klaviyo plan to import a custom HTML template?

No. Template import is available on Klaviyo’s free tier, which covers up to 250 profiles. Removing Klaviyo’s own footer branding is the paid-plan feature, not the import.

How is a launch email different from an announcement?

A launch is cinematic and image-led, built around a product you can show. An announcement is typographic — the headline carries it, and there is no hero image at all.

Does Vitamin-C serum launch — Klaviyo hold up in dark mode and Outlook?

Every zone sets its background twice — once as a bgcolor attribute and once as an inline background-color — which is the pattern that survives dark-mode inversion in clients that repaint backgrounds.

The “Shop the serum” button is a bulletproof VML button, so Outlook on Windows draws a real filled button instead of collapsing it to a bare text link.

The layout is a 600px table backbone with a mobile breakpoint, and the CSS is already inlined for the clients that strip style blocks.
